PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL EVALUATIONS

Provide the means by which an understanding of a student's strengths and weaknesses as they relate to learning and academic functioning is gained.  Psychoeducational evaluations provide an individualized assessment of a student's cognitive/learning aptitude, basic academic skill development, and personality/adjustment characteristics.

Depending on the individual concerns and needs of the client, tests of intelligence, achievement, auditory and visual processing, learning and memory, attention/concentration, executive functions, and social-emotional functioning will be administered during the course of the evaluation.

Special attention is focused upon thoroughly documenting areas of challenge such as learning disorders or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and recommending specific interventions. If appropriate, recommendations regarding providing accommodations to maximize the student's learning potential will be offered.
